Banquet Server

POSITION PURPOSE: A Banquet Server is responsible for providing exceptional food and beverage service at events, including weddings, private parties, corporate gatherings, and club functions. This role requires a high level of energy while one ensures a seamless dining experience by delivering professional, attentive, and friendly service while maintaining the highest standards of hospitality. Banquet Servers provide service across a variety of venues, including the Members Clubhouse, Beach Club, and outdoor event spaces. They are responsible for delivering exceptional service to members and guests, ensuring every detail is attended to. Duties include full setup and teardown of event areas, along with additional tasks as assigned by management. By adhering to established service standards and consistently exceeding expectations, Banquet Servers play a key role in elevating the overall dining and event experience. Servers are expected to maintain a courteous and professional demeanor, work collaboratively with colleagues, and take pride in providing an experience so memorable that members and guests look forward to their return. Teamwork across all departments at Horseshoe Bay Golf Club is essential in ensuring this high level of service and hospitality. JOB TASKS AND DUTIES: Report to venue and time as scheduled Specific duties for each event will be described during the event meeting lineup. Duties may include table setting, room setup, cleaning, passing hors d’oeuvres, running food, serving food and beverages, clearing rooms or tables, buffet set-up, break-down or maintenance, decorating and any number of assignments. Event Setup & Breakdown During each shift opening and closing side work assigned must be completed Set up tables, chairs, linens, glassware, silverware, and decorations as per event BEO or specifications. Assist in preparing buffet stations, plated meal setups, and beverage stations. Clean and reset event spaces after service, ensuring everything is returned to its proper place. Additional responsibilities may be assigned to assist with the smooth running of the operation Service Execution Greet guests warmly and provide excellent customer service. Serve food and beverages promptly and professionally, following proper etiquette. Refill water glasses, clear plates, and ensure guests’ needs are met throughout the event. Work efficiently with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth service. Monitor and maintain cleanliness in the banquet area, including tables and service stations. Teamwork & Communication Coordinate with fellow servers, bartenders, and event staff to ensure a cohesive experience. Communicate any guest needs or special requests to the banquet captain or manager. Follow instructions regarding event timelines and service standards. Guest Experience & Professionalism Remain attentive and responsive to guests while maintaining a positive attitude. Uphold the club’s high hospitality standards by being courteous and professional. Address any guest concerns with a solution-focused approach. Active Participation Required Event Meeting Lineup Staff meetings as scheduled Additional training programs as scheduled Occasional professional development seminars QUALIFICATIONS: Prior experience in catering, events, hospitality, or restaurant service is a plus, but not required. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing and be able to read, understand, follow and enforce recipes and safety procedures. One should be able to operate a computer and Point of Sale System. Ability to demonstrate a professional presence and a genuine desire to engage effectively with members, guests, and team members. One should thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a calm and composed demeanor. Flexibility and willingness to work extended hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays are essential. Physical requirements include the ability to lift and push up to 35 pounds regularly, stand for extended periods, and work in a variety of indoor and outdoor conditions throughout all seasons.
