And we're just getting started. ### About the position (On-site in Urbana, Illinois) The Member (Server) Assistant plays a vital support role in the delivery of an exceptional dining experience for members and guests at Urbana Country Club. This position ensures that tables and service areas are clean, organized, and properly set, while also assisting servers and bartenders in maintaining smooth, attentive, and elegant service. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, professional, and eager to work as part of a high-performing team. You will support servers and service staff by clearing, resetting, and maintaining tables in a timely and discreet manner. You will make sure water glasses and non-alcoholic beverages are consistently refilled throughout service and deliver bread, butter, condiments, and other accompaniments as needed. The role can include carrying trays and food running, keeping service stations clean, stocked, and organized (including polishing silverware and glassware), and communicating table readiness and member needs clearly with servers, hosts, and kitchen staff. You may also assist with event setups, dining room transitions, and outdoor patio service when needed. Maintain a professional and gracious demeanor, always presenting a positive reflection of the Club. Some specifics about the physical and scheduling requirements: - Must be able to stand and walk for long periods, lift up to 40 lbs, and move quickly during service. - Evening, weekend, and holiday availability required. - Indoor and seasonal outdoor service, including special events. - Fast-paced, detail-focused environment with high service expectations; physical stamina to handle repetitive tasks and standing for long periods of time. ### What you should bring Prior experience as a busser or server assistant preferred. Prior experience in upscale or fine dining hospitality preferred, but not required. We value a strong work ethic, a sense of urgency, and the ability to anticipate the needs of both guests and team members. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, the ability to multi-task and prioritize, and a neat appearance and professional demeanor in line with Club standards are important. Willingness to learn and grow within a service-driven environment is expected. UCC is a drug-free workplace. Pay Range: $14-$16 per hour based on experience.
