About the Role

White Mountain Country Club (WMCC), located in the beautiful White Mountains of Pinetop, Arizona, is a premier, member-owned & operated private country club with a proud history, strong traditions, and a membership passionate about the game of golf.

Our 18-hole golf course is the centerpiece of the WMCC experience. Set among towering ponderosa pines at 7,000 feet of elevation, the course offers a unique mountain-golf environment and presents both exciting opportunities and distinct agronomic challenges.

WMCC is a highly seasonal club with an active and engaged membership that values exceptional playing conditions, attention to detail, continuous improvement, and thoughtful stewardship of the golf course.

The Golf Course Superintendent is responsible for the overall maintenance, conditioning, presentation, and long-term health of the golf course & practice facility

Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Superintendent serves as a key member of WMCC's senior leadership team and works closely with the Director of Golf Operations and Greens Committee.

This position requires more than outstanding agronomic knowledge. We are looking for a leader, communicator, team builder, and strategic thinker who understands the expectations and relationships that come with working at a member-owned private club.

The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader who takes ownership of the golf course and department while recognizing that success at a private club is built through relationships, communication, teamwork, and trust.

A degree, certificate, or equivalent professional experience in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, or a related field. Successful experience as a Golf Course Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, or similar senior agronomic leadership position. Private club and/or high-end golf course experience strongly preferred.

Strong knowledge of turfgrass management, irrigation systems, fertility programs, plant protectants, equipment management, and course setup. Demonstrated ability to recruit, train, develop, and retain a high-performing team. Strong budgeting, purchasing, forecasting, and capital-planning skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The ability to listen to member and committee input with an open mind while providing sound professional recommendations.
