Duties include conducting daily course inspections, assessing playability conditions, and coordinating with Pro Shop staff regarding course openings or closures. The role supervises maintenance staff, assigns and oversees daily tasks, and provides training on the safe operation of golf course maintenance equipment.Additional responsibilities include supervising and instructing staff in pesticide and fertilizer applications, completing annual performance reviews, and hiring and terminating seasonal employees to ensure full staffing throughout the season. The position calibrates sprayers and spreaders, maintains accurate records of all chemical applications, and manages the activation, deactivation, maintenance, and repair of the automated irrigation system.The role assists with preparing purchase requests for equipment, parts, and supplies; monitors fuel storage levels and places orders as needed; and conducts monthly safety meetings with proper documentation. This position also supports implementation of the site's Storm Water Pollution Prevention Program (SWPPP), including inspections, reporting, and recordkeeping.The employee operates all golf course equipment including sprayers, mowers, tractors with attachments, and utility vehicles. In the mechanic's absence, performs preventive maintenance on the equipment fleet while maintaining parts inventory. The position ensures full compliance with FCPA hazardous materials policies and all applicable state, local, and federal regulations governing the purchase, application, storage, and disposal of chemicals, pesticides, and fertilizers.Illustrative DutiesThe illustrative duties listed in this specification are representative of the class but are not an all-inclusive list.
