Overview
Fawn Lake Country Club is seeking a motivated, professional, and service-oriented Assistant Golf Professional to join our golf operations team. The Assistant Golf Professional will play an integral role in the daily operation of the golf facility and will work closely with the Head Golf Professional and golf operations team to provide an exceptional experience for members and guests.
The ideal candidate is a passionate golf professional who combines strong customer service skills with sound knowledge of golf operations, tournament management, instruction, merchandising, and member relations. This position offers an opportunity to take on meaningful responsibility within the golf operation while continuing to grow professionally and contribute to the success of the club.
Experience Required
PGA Associate, PGA Member, or actively progressing toward PGA membership preferred (Level 1 Required). Previous experience working in a golf professional or golf operations role required. Strong knowledge of golf rules, etiquette, tournament operations, and player development. Experience with tee sheet and point-of-sale systems preferred. Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional member and guest service. Professional appearance, positive attitude, and strong work ethic. Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team. Ability to supervise, train, and motivate staff. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. Valid driver's license required.
Essential Responsibilities
Assist the Head Golf Professional with the overall daily operation and management of the golf facility. Provide a consistently high level of service to members, guests, and visiting golfers. Oversee and assist with daily tee sheet management, player check-in, starting, pace of play, and on-course service. Assist in planning, organizing, and conducting member tournaments, leagues, outings, clinics, and special events. Take an active role in tournament administration, including event setup, scoring, rules, registration, and post-event responsibilities. Provide individual and group golf instruction, clinics, junior programs, and player-development opportunities as appropriate. Assist with the management and presentation of the golf shop, including merchandising, inventory, displays, sales, and point-of-sale operations. Assist with purchasing, inventory control, and maintaining appropriate merchandise levels. Build and maintain strong relationships with members and guests while responding professionally to questions, requests, and concerns. Assist with staff scheduling, training, supervision, and daily assignment of golf operations personnel. Help ensure that golf carts, rental equipment, practice facilities, and other golf amenities are properly maintained and presented. Promote golf programs, events, lessons, merchandise, and other club offerings. Assist with enforcing club policies, golf rules, and standards of conduct in a professional and courteous manner. Work closely with the golf course maintenance team and other departments to support smooth daily operations. Maintain accurate records and assist with administrative duties related to golf operations. Step into leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Head Golf Professional or as assigned. Participate in professional-development opportunities and remain current with PGA standards, golf rules, industry practices, and technology. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head Golf Professional or Assistant Head Golf Professional.
