This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company’s locations: North Shore Preserve, set on the Island of Kauai.
North Shore Preserve is seeking a Golf Course Assistant Superintendent to join the Golf Maintenance Department.
The Golf Course Asst. Superintendent is responsible for the overall maintenance of the golf course and related equipment. The Golf Course Asst. Superintendent will oversee site supervision, scheduling, and project management including tracking project schedule, managing subcontractor milestones, responding to client inquiries/changes in a timely basis. In this role, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees.
Key Responsibilities
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in turf management, agronomy, horticulture, or a related field (preferred).Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in golf course maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.Strong knowledge of turfgrass species, irrigation systems, and golf course agronomy practices.Well versed in all aspects of Golf Course Construction and management of Golf Course Construction personnel.Experience with budget management and resource allocation.Valid driver's license and pesticide applicator's license (or ability to obtain).

Long hours may be required due to business demands.Ability to work in a team environment.Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.
