About the Role
PRINCIPAL DUTIES: Specifically, the Cart Staff must:
Greet and welcome members and guests.Give all members and guests miscellaneous information that may help them in playing the course. (Example: Yardage markers on sprinkler heads are measured to the middle of the green.)Provide members with thoroughly cleaned and good operating carts that are stocked with towels, scorecards, pencils, and divot sand.Perform periodic cart maintenance and minor special repairs. Update cart service records.Ensure that the Cart Room is always clean and orderly.Service the practice range. Set up the practice range for play. Continually replenish the supply of practice balls. Patrol the practice tee to pick up trash and empty range ball bags. Collect, clean, and bag balls at the end of play, ensuring that all range balls are in excellent condition at all times by culling damaged balls.Assist members and guests as they leave the club, ensuring that all golf clubs are cleaned and returned to the bag storage area or placed in their vehicles.Work closely with the Golf Shop staff to ensure that all club rules including dress code and beverage policy, are followed by members and guests.Ensure, by being available, that no member carries his or her clubs to or from the range, parking, or clubhouse area.PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND VISUAL SKILLS:
Good organizational skills.Good verbal communication skills.Ability to rationally and amicable solve problems and complaints.Ability to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions independently.Ability to provide effective written and verbal instructions, as well as to retrieve information from technical sources.Ability to visually inspect golf carts, golf clubs, and the outside area for cleanliness.Ability to perform moderate physical work, may be required to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly, performing such activities as bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, and grasping for up to five (5) hours without sitting.REQUIRED WORK HABITS:
Work habits include regular attendance, teamwork, initiative, dependability, and promptness.
EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND WORK-RELATED EXPERIENCE:
Must be at least 16 years old as required by labor laws.
Previous experience working in a golf club, country club, or golf course protocol preferred but not required.
