Assistant Golf Course Superintendent Golf Club in Jefferson, North Carolina is looking for an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent. Position Overview: • Assist the Golf Course Superintendent with daily planning and execution of golf course maintenance operations. • Help oversee and direct the maintenance crew and daily assignments. • Assist with fertilizer, pesticide, and other turfgrass applications in accordance with all applicable regulations and label requirements. • Monitor turf health and identify disease, insect, weed, drainage, and irrigation issues. • Assist with the installation, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of the golf course irrigation system. • Assist with seasonal turfgrass programs and course improvement projects. • Help maintain equipment and keep the maintenance facility and work areas clean and organized. • Monitor course conditions and communicate maintenance needs to the Superintendent. • Help prepare the golf course for daily play, tournaments, and special events. • Follow and promote proper safety procedures and ensure equipment is operated safely. • Work cooperatively with the golf shop, clubhouse, management, and other departments. • Perform other duties as assigned by the Golf Course Superintendent. Requirements • 2+ years as an assistant superintendent. • Experience on Bentgrass/cool-season grass is strongly preferred. • Irrigation experience is a plus. • NC Pesticide applicator licence or willingness to obtain licence within 90 days of hiring date. • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, walking, and standing for extended periods. • Strong work ethic and attention to detail. • Good communication and leadership skills. • Valid driver’s license.
