POSITION SUMMARYThe Cart Attendant is primarily responsible for service to members, cart loading, staging, storing and cart cleanliness.
ESSENTIAL DUTIESGreet all members and guests in an attentive, warm, friendly, courteous, professional and service oriented manner in accordance with the Club’s policies and procedures.Maintain regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.Be knowledgeable of and always comply with the Club’s standards, policies and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations.Maintain high standards of professional appearance and grooming, which include wearing proper attire and name tag when working.Follow procedures for proper opening and closing of the cart and range operations.Load bags from bag storage room onto golf carts and assist members and guests with any clubs or bag.Remove bags from golf carts and return bags to assigned rack in bag storage room.Maintain cleanliness and organization of bag storage room.Transport range balls to each end of range and fill appropriate containers.Place range balls at evenly spaced intervals on range in trays or crates, per the day of use.Operate range ball picker on range to retrieve balls.Wash range balls to maintain cleanliness and usability.Clean and wash golf cart before returning to golf shelter and connect charger cable, if applicable.Notify Pro Shop of any clubs or items found on the course and place in lost and found.Respond promptly to requests from members, guests, and staff in a polite and professional manner.Refer all major problems or complaints to a supervisor or manager.Clean clubs for members and guests; clean and maintain the club’s rental equipment.Provide attentive service, focusing on members’ and guests’ needs.Assist in keeping all working areas attractive, neat, and clean.Assist golf shop staff in the tournament setup of golf carts and range operations.Attend staff meetings.Perform other duties as assigned by management.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLSAttending High School, High School diploma or GED equivalent.Knowledge about the game of golf and its rules.Able to operate a golf cart.Valid driver’s license required.No moving violations or minor incidents within the past three years and no major incidents (e.g., DUI) within the past 5 years.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.TYPICAL PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDSAble to work outside in all weather conditions.Able to meet and perform physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment which is typical of this position.Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping and pulling.Requires ability to lift up to 20 lbs.Frequent repetitive motions.Continuous walking and standing.Able to enter and exit a golf cart.Must be able to communicate, convey information and ideas clearly.Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.Must be effective in listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by members and their guests.TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONSWork is performed both indoors and outdoors. Varied weather conditions are expected with exposure to heat/humidity, or cool/cold weather, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles or caustic chemicals. Varying schedule to include weekdays, weekends and holidays.
