Job Overview As a Server at Cherokee Country Club, you will be responsible for providing food, beverage, and hospitality to our members in our various dining outlets. Your main goal will be to anticipate and exceed the needs of our members while delivering exceptional service. You will work closely with the dining team, utilizing our POS system, Foodrunners (Expo), Server Assistants, and Bartenders to ensure a seamless dining experience. Proficiency in our operations, menus, and operating systems is crucial for success in this role. Effective communication and teamwork are key elements of this position. Employee Expectations Have a deep knowledge of all menus, preparation methods, service styles, and ingredientsShow passion for service and take a proactive approach to meet the needs of our membersBe familiar with our members, their names, and preferences, and add notes accordinglyEnsure compliance with all state and local laws, as well as club policies, regarding the service of alcoholic beveragesExhibit a strong work ethic, punctuality, and attention to detailMaintain a positive attitude, friendly disposition, and a team mentalityHave a desire to say \yes\ and genuinely help othersShow intent to develop as an individual, teammate, and hospitality professionalJob Tasks/Duties Perform sidework and duties related to opening and closing the operationKeep silverware, glassware, and service materials clean and polished at all timesProvide menus and answer all questions, seeking answers if necessaryKeep water and beverage glasses full, offering refills when neededLearn specials and make recommendations on pairings and favorite menu itemsEnsure accurate account numbers and names for billingCarry food to the table on trays, dropping dishes to the correct seat numbers or delegating to othersNote any allergies and communicate them to management and the culinary teamTake the lead in directing the service team to serve and clear in a rhythm appropriate for the dining outlet and member expectationsProvide immediate attention to all members and guests upon seatingTake beverage orders and serve food in specified stationPour and refill wine, coffee, water, and other beverages served with and after the mealClear soiled dishes as neededClean all assigned work areas in the kitchen and service areasAdvise supervisor of any member or guest complaints as soon as they occurAssist in closing functions, such as removing linen, bussing glasses, dishes, silverware, etc., and resetting the room for the next shiftAttend staff meetings, including pre-service (line-up) sessionsConsistently follow all food safety-related requirementsDevelop proficiency in Club policies and standardsAssist with service of food and beverages in outlets and for special functions when neededSuggest when additional service supplies and small equipment are neededCoordinate any special requests, including dietary needs and allergens, with the culinary teamTake responsibility for mistakes and address them in an open and honest fashionDisplay a passion for service and enthusiasm for excellence among the teamComplete other appropriate assignments made by Club leadershipMove between operations as needed, including the Overlook Bar & Grill during pool seasonEducation/Experience Previous hospitality or customer service experience preferred, but not requiredHigh school education or equivalent requiredCompensation $5 per hour, plus tips.
