About the Role
The Global Golf Development Trainee will participate in a unique, hands-on learning experience designed to deepen their understanding of tournament operations, expose them to high-level golf development programs and foster professional connections within the global golf community. As part of the Augusta National Golf Club's Global Golf Development Program, this role presents a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact while gaining exposure to high-level event planning, tournament operations, and international networking. The “Trainee” designation reflects the program’s emphasis on professional growth, skill development, and long-term impact in the golf industry. This position requires residence or relocation to the Augusta, GA area. This is a paid, nine-month internship that will run from September 1 - May 31. Housing assistance is provided.
Essential Functions of the Job
Interfaces and collaborates directly with the Senior Manager of Tournament Operations to ensure the successful conduct of the Masters Tournament’s outreach programs around the globe including the Asia-Pacific Amateur (AAC), Latin America Amateur Championship (LAAC), Drive, Chip and Putt (DCP) and the Augusta National Women’s Amateur (ANWA).
Attend and collaborate with the Founding Partner organizations (The R&A, USGA, PGA of America and Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation) at the AAC and LAAC.
Travel and assist PGA of America sections with DCP regional qualifying events.
Assist the Senior Manager of Community Golf to execute various programs aimed at promoting the game of golf within the greater Augusta community.
Assist various Tournament Headquarters personnel as directed in the preparation of the AAC and LAAC academies.
Work alongside various departments within Augusta National Golf Club to administer and launch the Drive, Chip and Putt qualifying season. Assist the Golf Development Lead in the execution of the Drive, Chip and Putt National Finals.
Collaborate with various departments within Augusta National to ensure the successful promotion of all Masters Tournament Foundation and Masters Tournament Charities initiatives.

Occasionally required to walk and work with hands and arms, lift up to 25 pounds and/or drive a golf cart.
Constantly required to sit, sometimes for several hours at a time, and use their hands and fingers to operate a computer.

Qualifications:
Skills/Knowledge/Attributes:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and high workloads with high attention for detail.
Ability to solve problems independently and in conjunction with others.
Knowledge of golf tournament operations practices and principles.
Proficiency of the Rules of Golf preferred.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, Publisher, Excel, Word and Power Point.
Efficient organizational skills, creative, resourceful and diligent in working with repetitious tasks.
Relative Experience/Education:
Bachelors degree required, or currently enrolled in a college or university with a senior class ranking.
Experience working for a professional golf tournament preferred.
Required License(s):
Possess a valid driver’s license and/or successfully completes the Club’s internal motor vehicle training program.
Valid passport is required.
Projected Work Schedule:
Normal work hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays, and overtime as dictated by the needs of the business. This role will involve 25% of international and domestic travel.
