Bar ManagerLocation: Ember & Oak, Parsons, Kansas
Position Overview: The Bar Manager will help launch and lead the bar program for our new restaurant. This is a unique opportunity to shape the bar’s culture, systems, and guest experience from day one. We’re looking for a hospitality professional with strong leadership skills, beverage knowledge, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
Bar Manager Duties and ResponsibilitiesLead bar operations during the opening and beyond.Hire, train, and schedule bartenders and bar staff.Build inventory systems, ordering processes, and stock controls.Ensure exceptional guest service and welcoming bar atmosphere.Maintain compliance with alcohol laws, safety standards, and sanitation procedures.Support beverage programming, promotions, and opening events.Oversees daily sales, cash handling, and point‑of‑sale (POS) accuracy (Aloha/Micros).May perform other duties as assigned.Bar Manager Education and Qualifications2 + years of bar or restaurant management experience.Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.Knowledge of cocktails, spirits, beer, wine, and bar operations.Ability to excel in a high‑volume, fast paced environment.Financial awareness related to budgeting and cost control.Experience with staff training, scheduling, and development.Prior new restaurant opening experience is a plus but not required.Bar Manager Physical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of Bar Manager, the employee is regularly required to stand for extended periods of time; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Bar Manager Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of Bar Manager, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Weekend, evening, and holiday availability required.
