About the Role
Torreon Golf Club, located in Show Low, AZ, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a Full-Time Tournament Coordinator! We are seeking a motivated individual who is interested in contributing to a positive experience for our members and guests while continuing to grow their knowledge of golf club operations. Key Responsibilities:
Coordinates each tournament or event from initial planning stages through completion Advises the Director of Golf, General Manager, Head Golf Professional, and Superintendent on future events to facilitate proper coordination of special set-up requirements and staffing levels; generates a monthly calendar of events for management review Develops and maintains contacts (new groups, previous groups, local businesses, civic organizations, and charity groups) to promote tournament venues Schedules and maintains tee times for members, groups, and individual play Maintains accurate records for all groups and tournaments Coordinates interdepartmental support for all tournaments (i.e., golf services, golf shop, food and beverage, etc.) Works with customers to promote events, sell logo merchandise, and coordinate other golf services Prepares and distributes information pertaining to tournaments, critical dates, and course closures to members, groups, and individuals Assists with the registration of golfers for tournaments Administers tournaments in conjunction with the facility tournament manual Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems Manages department members that may include, but are not limited to: Group Sales Associate Monitors business volume forecasts and plans accordingly in areas of manpower, productivity, costs, and other expenses Performs other duties as required
Minimum Qualifications:
Qualified candidates must be a Member of the PGA of America Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; and six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education
