### Position Summary
The primary function of an employee in this position is to perform
general maintenance, repair, cleaning and service work on City golf
course grounds and buildings, including equipment, machinery, and
irrigation systems. Additional duties will include staffing the pro shop
as well as golf cart cleaning, preventive maintenance and repair. The
position is seasonal and work is performed under the direct supervision
of the of the Golf Course Foreman and the indirect supervision of the
Parks & Recreation Director. Work hours will vary, and include early
weekday mornings, weekends and holidays. The principal duties of this
position are performed in an outdoor environment and may include working
in adverse weather conditions, as well as mechanical hazards involving
the use of motorized vehicles, power tools and equipment.
### Primary Responsibilities
Perform general grounds maintenance, using specialized equipment; Performs general landscape and cleanup tasks, including mowing,
trimming, weeding and aerating, as well as trash and debris removal;
Perform basic maintenance and repair work on golf course facilities,
motorized and non-motorized equipment, as may be required;
Perform scheduled maintenance and repair of automated irrigation
systems;
Provide facility and equipment security; Staff pro-shop, as required, and clean, perform basic maintenance
and repair of golf carts;
Perform all work duties and activities in accordance with City, and
other applicable, policies, procedures, and safety practices;
Perform other related duties as required.
### Specialized Knowledge
Knowledge of golf and golf equipment; Experience working with a variety of power and hand tools,
golf/utility carts, tractors, riding and walk mowers;
Knowledge of basic grounds maintenance skills, including mowing and
planting;
Experience in operating, adjusting and monitoring automated
sprinkler control systems;
Demonstrated ability to maintain written maintenance records, logs,
and other required documentation;
Ability and desire to work early weekday mornings, weekends and
holidays;
ID Drivers License with no restrictions
### Experience, Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalency. This requirement will be
waived for students still enrolled in High School;
Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides
the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work;
Accurately follow oral and written instructions; Ability to engage in positive interactions with co-workers and the
public;
### Essential Physical Abilities
Sufficient clarity of speech, hearing, manual dexterity and personal
mobility and stamina, with or without reasonable accommodation, which
permits the employee to:
discern verbal instructions, communicate with other employees and
the public, and discern warning or emergency alarms, including
vehicle backup warnings;
comprehend written work instructions and work orders, technical and
operational documents
operate and adjust a variety of power and hand tools, including
specialized equipment;
frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, and work in an
outdoor environment in all environmental conditions;
Sufficient visual acuity required by this job, with or without
reasonable accommodation, including close vision, distance vision, color
vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust
focus.
