Description:BASIC FUNCTION: The Director of Golf is responsible for the strategic leadership, management, administration, and competitive success of the golf programs. In addition to serving as the program’s lead coach, the Director provides comprehensive oversight of all aspects of the programs, including student-athlete development, recruitment and retention, staffing, budgeting, competitive scheduling, compliance, fundraising, alumni and community engagement, and long-term program planning. The Director is recognized as the leader of the entire golf program and is responsible for advancing its competitive excellence while ensuring compliance with NCAA, conference, University, and Department policies.
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide overall leadership and administration of the golf programs.Develop and implement a strategic vision and long-term plan for sustained competitive success.Direct all coaching, instruction, player development, practice planning, and competition preparation.Supervise, mentor, and evaluate assistant coaches and support staff; recommend hiring decisions.Oversee recruiting and retention of qualified student-athletes.Manage all program budgets, including recruiting, travel, scholarships, equipment, and operational expenses.Coordinate fundraising, alumni engagement, and community outreach initiatives in partnership with Athletics Advancement.Ensure compliance with all University, NCAA, and conference rules and regulations.Support student-athlete academic success, retention, graduation, health, and well-being.Coordinate team travel, scheduling, and administrative operations with the assigned sport administrator.Represent the University through media, public relations, donor, and campus events.Perform other duties assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Qualifications:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree required.3-5 years collegiate coaching experience.Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications:PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
3-5 years of Division I collegiate coaching experience
