Nestled next to the protected open space of the Arastradero Preserve, Palo Alto Hills Golf & Country Club (PAHGCC) blends the outdoors, family, and exceptional golf in one of the most idyllic locations in the Bay Area. PAHGCC was built in 1958 and developed with a vision to be the family club inclusive of women and children and has been a leading example of family membership ever since. Our welcoming and distinctive Private Club provides a premier championship golf course, year-round recreation, and artistic culinary and social activities for Members, their families and guests.
Job Purpose
The Concierge will represent and execute Palo Alto Hills Golf & Country Club standards of service excellence for all members, guests, callers, and its employees. The Clubhouse Concierge will provide timely and professional service responses via phone, email, and in person. The position requires a warm and friendly, pro-active, organized individual able to perform varied, diversified, and confidential administrative work which supports the successful completion of departmental functions, goals and objectives. Excellent administrative and communication skills are required. This position performs a variety of tasks to support a handful of senior managers.
Duties & Responsibilities
MEMBER & GUEST SERVICE:
Proactively greet everyone who calls or enters the property in a pleasant, outgoing and professional mannerProvide extra assistance (onboarding) to new members regarding rules, reservations, introductions, recommendations Ensure the front desk, lobby, meeting rooms and downstairs restrooms are clean, orderly, presentable and welcoming
ADMINISTRATIVE:
Answer all phone calls, respond to voicemail messages and emailOrder office supplies for the ClubWork with event staff to schedule and reserve conference roomsSupports team with courier options (Federal Express, USPS, etc)Maintain log of lost and found itemsAssist Committee Chairs with printing, copying, schedulingAssist with mailing Member statementsProvide administrative support to the Director of Marketing & Membership in all membership-related tasks
MEMBERSHIP & COMMUNICATIONS:
Serve as a graphics designer and/or editor for Member-focused communicationsManage the Club website, microsites, and mobile appOversee Club's internal messaging (bulletin boards and digital signage) and external (mobile app, website, social media)Create content for Club internal marketing, including but not limited to:Flyers for both physical and digital display in weekly and quarterly newslettersDigital displays including clubhouse monitors and golf cart screensSupport project for filing and converting documents to digital formatSupport production of all digital and print communicationsPromote club activities and events in a manner that engages the membershipReview the Club website daily, update inserts, review & update calendar itemsAssist with Club communications, newsletters, emails, etcAssist with membership database data entry, new Member profile and introduction pagesLead the coordination and execution of Member headshot photographyOrganizes production of membership gifts and manages spreadsheet of inventory and distibutionEffectively responds to Member comments in accordance with Club standards, policies and rules; uses ideas, feedback and suggestions to continuously improve member servicesAssist Committee Chairs with printing, copying, scheduling
FOOD & BEVERAGE DEPARTMENT:
Complete reservations for Members for dining and special eventsPrint buffet cards, special event menusFacilitate online carryout food + wine salesProcess event billing

Knowledge, Skills, And Experience
Bachelor’s degree preferred or at least 2+ years relevant work experience in private clubs or hospitalityKnowledge of hospitality industry, administrative roles and customer serviceExperience with Canva, Adobe, Microsoft office, Outlook, and CRMAbility to interact comfortably and professionally with the public via phone, email and in person in an efficient, positive and brand-appropriate mannerStrong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills demonstrated by the ability to make timely and sound decisionsCommitment to excellence and high standardsAttention to detail in all work performedVersatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
LICENSES AND SPECIAL REQUIRMENTS
Must provide valid documents to work in the U.S.Valid California Driver’s License is requiredCPR/AED certified preferred but not required
PHYSCIAL REQUIRMENTS
This position requires a flexible schedule for working evenings, weekends, and all holidays as determined by business needsRequired to sit for long periodsMust be able to reach, bend, stoop, stand and lift up to 30 poundsMust be able to work in a variety of environmental conditions, including both hot and cold temperatures, indoors and outdoorsPublic speaking at meetings and events may be requiredMust be able to handle indoor and outdoor conditionsMay be subject to loud music or noise
About Our Offer
This is a full-time non-exempt hourly position at $28.00 - $30.00 per hourBenefit package includes: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K with up to 4% match, EAP, Life and AD&D insurance, PTO and Sick TimeComplimentary meals provided up to six days per week, excluding designated aerification daysOur premier championship golf course is open for staff to enjoy on select Mondays
