Position Purpose
The City of Arvada operates West Woods Golf Course; this position is responsible for selling alcoholic beverages, non-alcoholic beverages and food on the 27-hole course in a warm, friendly and professional manner while exhibiting proper golf etiquette and safe driving.
Essential Job Functions
• Loads, restocks and unloads beverage cart daily.
• Performs daily inventory and records any restocking of all products, both food and beverage.
• Keeps carts clean and organized.
• Greets guests warmly and with a smile, proceeds with standard sales approach with suggestive selling and upselling; has thorough knowledge of food and beverage items available to the golfer.
• Maintains up to date knowledge of applicable liquor laws and standard operating procedures provided by the management.
• Utilizes Point of Sales system and creates daily sales reports and inventory reconciliation.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
• Reviews schedules for changes, calendar of events and course activities.
• Maintains and exhibits knowledge of proper golf course etiquette.
• Attends required department meetings and training sessions.Frequently operates a personal or City-owned motor vehicle to drive to and from work locations throughout the City.

A valid Colorado driver’s license and acceptable driving record is required.

Work Experience Related
Customer service experience. Cash handling experience.
Work Experience Preferred
Previous golf cart attendant experience preferred. Previous guest service or bartender experience helpful.
Other Qualifications
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Physical Demands
Moderate to considerable physical effort that includes working from ladders in awkward positions. Frequent use of light or medium weight objects (e.g., 25-50 lbs.) and use of medium weight tools.
Hazards
Occasional hazards that are predictable or well protected against (Hazardous waste, ladders, cleaning supplies, trips and falls).
Work Environment
• Regular exposure to heat and noise along with working outside in the elements.
The City of Arvada does not offer benefits to temporary and/or seasonal employees. Temporary, Variable Hour and Health Plan Eligible employees will earn 1 hour of sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum cap of 48 hours.
